Sr. Production Artist - Contract Position
The Production Artist will contribute to the artwork process, facilitating design(s) transition from the concepts or approved design phases to the production phase. The Production Artist will take the concept and see the project through production. Assists in all phases of the preproduction, retouching file prep and production to help produce high-quality, strategically grounded programs. Helps maintain brand guidelines that govern the creative elements for both marketing and product. Properly constructs artwork using documented guidelines. Name, organize and release digital files properly. This position requires experience with various printing methods, the ability to contribute and convey ideas, communicate effectively, and work within a team environment.
The Production Artist aligns with the shared vision of the Director of Creative Services and helps manage the timelines, quality and budgets for all work, created by both internal and external resources. Position reports to the Senior Manager, Studio Production (SMSP) and works collaboratively with the Marketing and Product teams to facilitate a productive relationship and flow of ideas.
Deliver consistently great execution of print ready production work. Understand and adhere to the company brand guidelines, successfully interact within the company specifically within the Marketing department and its vendors to deliver all assets and to troubleshoot issues
Take creative concepts from Art Directors and build production ready files including design, retouching, photo manipulation, and/or color correction
Ability to prioritize work, take a proactive approach towards designs in gaining and understanding the work and handling multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines to standard. Should be flexible and adapt at shifting direction
Works with the Senior Manager, Studio Production and Project Management team to make all sure all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and stay true to the strategic direction and plans
Work proactively with our vendor partners to ensure continuous improvement and optimal production solutions for new and existing marketing materials and concepts
Demonstrate proficiency in design/production tools including Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 and Microsoft Office. Exhibit understanding of production processes and latest trends in production processes/print specific
Assist in tracking mock-ups, prototypes, electronic templates and printer proofs with vendors
Meet and exceed deadline expectations
Build and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and outside contractors
Be open and curious in embracing new technologies and design trends
Assist on press checks on major programs when necessary
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in visual communications, arts or marketing
Minimum 5-8 years of experience
Experience with multi-channel retail (either on the client or agency side), trade marketing development, and execution of promotions and advertising
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Printer, pre-press, advertising or creative agency experience at the production level
