Senior Payroll Analyst

Position Overview_________________________

The Sr. Payroll Analyst leads the daily functions of Redbox payroll. We have an outsourced payroll model, so this role directs the activities of our vendor, ADP. Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, reporting and partnership within the HR function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Redbox contact with our outsourced payroll and time & attendance vendor ensuring timely, accurate and compliant time reporting, payroll processing, taxes and related payroll activities

  • Ensures the vendor processes payroll in an accurate timely manner, including audits, data accuracy, reporting, regulatory compliance, GL recon, garnishments, child support, etc.

  • Responsible for processing payroll for small population of Puerto Rico employees

  • Serve as the payroll SME related to our timekeeping system

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Redbox payroll & timekeeping

  • Serve as a SME on internal payroll data and setup within our payroll & timekeeping systems

  • Lead the optimization of payroll processes to align with business and system changes, which includes creating process documentation, user guides and job aids

  • Develop and run payroll reports for internal clients supporting audits, leaves, insurance and other necessary data

  • Lead payroll system updates (from the business side) and any relevant implementation

  • Research tax inquiries and monitor payroll tax activities to ensure accuracy

Education & Experience

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Requires 5+ years’ experience with all aspects of processing payroll for a multi-state distributed workforce, including Puerto Rico

  • Requires experience partnering with a third party payroll and time & attendance services – ADP WFN and eTime strongly preferred

  • Requires experience and fluency with any of the major payroll reporting tools and HRIS systems

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Possess strong knowledge of payroll processes, garnishments, payroll tax laws/resources and how to navigate government tax agencies

  • Proven analytical skills required to identify and interpret problems and then recommend and implement a solution

  • Intermediate Excel skills including the ability to organize, manipulate and compare large data sets (Pivot Tables, Auto Filter, V Lookup, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office apps

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional attention to detail and great follow-up skills

  • Ability to develop and adhere to detailed processes

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
