DevOps Engineer II
Redbox is expanding into the exciting world of digital streaming and is looking for talented individuals to join our team as we make our move into modern mobile, web and consumer electronics applications in the cloud. We are modernizing our platform by moving to leading cloud native technologies such as Spinnaker and Kubernetes. With this mission in mind, we are seeking talented engineers to join our growing DevOps team and help transform our approaches to software development. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be able to make direct impactful changes that improve the entire software development lifecycle. We are adopting best in class tooling and technologies while breaking down silos. In addition, you will be driven to build/implement tooling with one goal in mind: empower developers to build, deploy, and own their code.
Create scalable solutions leveraging automation and open source tooling wherever possible.
Maintain Redbox's Cloud Delivery Pipeline including source control, CI, CD, and various cloud providers
Architect and share knowledge on building first in class cloud native solutions
Evolve platform by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
Education & Experience
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience
3+ years experience working in UNIX/Linux environments
2+ years experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Go
1+ years experience with & deep understanding of cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
Experience maintaining and using CI systems such as Jenkins
Comfortable using common source control tools such as git
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of system design and architecture with understanding of servers, networking, and security
Passion and deep understanding of immutable infrastructure
Support using, contributing and/or creating open source software. We love Open Source.
Passion and/or understanding of container technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes
Knowledge of configuration management such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Cloudformation, etc.
Understanding of metrics and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Graphite, and Elastic preferred
Sedentary work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
