Senior Software Dev Engineer – Enterprise (C# / .Net Core / AWS)
Redbox is expanding into the exciting world of digital streaming and is looking for talented individuals to join our team as we make our move into modern web and consumer electronic applications with a modernized approach to development. As we move to the cloud, we’re looking for key individuals who want to be part of a ‘you build it you own it’ model – our new DevOps team is building out best in class tooling for fully automated deployments with the mission to enable developers to push code as they need to. We are a .Net shop and are fully embracing the latest .Net Core technologies and containers using Kubernetes. The Enterprise team plays a critical role supporting the business with a suite of internal applications used throughout Redbox. We provide applications that are used to manage over 41,000 kiosks and their inventory, manage physical media (DVD, Blu-ray, 4K UHD & Game) and support our Customer Service team and much more. Our applications have evolved since Redbox first launched in 2002 and the time has come to modernize them as we move forward and embrace digital streaming. We are looking for proactive individuals to take ownership and build domain expertise in the applications they develop. You will work as part of a growing team to design and develop highly available microservices using the latest technologies to scale our business. This position is one of several in an expanding team that will define how we build next generation applications from inception to delivery.
Participate in all phases of design, development, and deployment
Solve complex business needs with high volume, low latency software built on a modern cloud platform
Partner with Quality Engineering on testing and quality, leveraging automation and continuous deployment
Work in partnership with product teams on new ideas, designs, estimates and feature roadmaps
Research technologies and develop proof of concepts while contributing knowledge to our team
Education & Experience
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
4+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using C#
3+ years of experience building Web API 2.0 RESTful services
Experience with modern technologies like ASP.NET Core, MVC 5 and Microservices
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes preferred
Experience migrating legacy systems to a Microservice architecture
Thorough understanding of OWASP and development best practices
Experience working and collaborating in a multi-team environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of Entity Framework and familiarity with nHibernate
Expert knowledge of SQL Server and some experience with MySQL and NoSQL databases
Knowledge of legacy technologies like ASP.NET Web Services, WCF and ASP.NET Web Forms
Sedentary work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
