Redbox Product Manager in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois

PRODUCT MANAGERPOSITION OVERVIEW - PURPOSE OF JOB

The Product Management team works closely with our business stakeholders, UX team, Technology Team (Developers) and PMO Team to guide Products from concept to launch to in-life incremental improvements. At Redbox, we define these Products as the digital experiences our consumers use to interact with Redbox: our website, our iOS and Android Mobile apps, our TV and streaming media apps and our Redbox kiosk interfaces. Product Managers also help to define and improve the tools our internal users implement to market to consumers on these digital storefronts to deliver more relevant and personalized experiences.

As part of the Product Management team, you will partner with digital marketing and eCommerce leaders to improve our marketing tools and drive our personalization strategy across all consumer touch joints: storefront, apps, email, text and other channels. Your goal will be to enable Redbox to learn more about each customer then use that data to provide 1:1 personalized and curated experiences. You will partner Merchandisers to understand their needs and build and drive a roadmap across storefronts. You will treat Merchandisers as Users/Customers to meet their needs.

  • Define the Roadmap: This role will also work closely with marketing, merchandisers, storefront product managers, the eCommerce team, data analytics, research, UX and customers to uncover opportunities, define product needs and build the roadmap. You will work with Technology (Developers) to understand what’s possible and the tradeoffs between time-to-market and feature/capability richness.

  • Deliver the Roadmap: This role will partner with peer storefront product managers, UX, Technology (Developers) and 3rd parties to build the tools and front-end experiences needed to personalize the customer journey.

  • Manage the Roadmap: Take ongoing ownership for iterating on and evolving the roadmap for your product area.

  • Partner with and manage the integration / delivery of capabilities from 3rd party technology solution vendors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prioritizes and justifies 0 – 12 month and short term quarterly Product Roadmaps for his/her area of responsibility and clearly articulate the product roadmap, vision, priorities and requirements to multiple stakeholders in both written and oral formats.

  • Work with business stakeholders to bring together a product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Personalization in support of corporate goals, objectives and deliver the roadmap.

  • Work with Merchandising and eCommerce team to improve our content merchandising and digital marketing tools and capabilities.

  • Act as product management lead for improving our pricing capabilities, content management system (CMS) and product metadata.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to define business requirements, build high quality products, lead user acceptance testing and launch products. Measure post-delivery performance and continually optimize customer experience based on the performance.

  • May be assigned to direct the work and/or manage of Associate Product Managers

  • Provide vision and leadership to the UX and Tech teams to collaborate on solving problems for the business and for our customers.

  • Gather and incorporate feedback from a diverse range of stakeholders including analytics teams, app and web teams, platform teams, operational teams, legal to author high-level business requirements and product features

  • Work closely with A/B Testing Team to prioritize and define personalization A/B tests. Own or support analysis for the tests, ensure winning experiences are deployed to 100% audience and share learnings from all tests with the cross-functional teams.

  • Supports any required RFI/RFP boilerplates, training, tools, collateral and knowledge bases.

  • May be assigned to mentor more junior-level Product Managers

  • Provide strategic leadership and prioritization to the Development Lead or Agile Product Owner – support those who support Developers.

  • Refining Business/Product Requirements Documents into Features

  • Support User Story creation by answering questions and supporting the Dev Teams

  • Prioritize roadmap items and help the Dev Teams to prioritize their backlogs and Sprint plans

  • Answer any questions from Dev/QA during stand up, backlog grooming, and planning sessions

  • UAT of new features

  • Partner with 3rd party platform / technology partners as needed

  • Create and prioritize their enhancement backlog

  • Prioritize their defect backlog

  • Define UAT deliverables

  • May be assigned to take on additional product areas on case-by-case basis

EDUCATION/SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS

  • Undergraduate degree in business, marketing or computer science. MBA desired.

  • 3+ years of applicable product management, product marketing or technical management experience.

  • Tech Savvy enough to look up things on his/her own and have effective conversations with Dev Teams and 3rd party contacts

  • Demonstrated success in executing and directing new product development activities in multiple areas.

  • Ideal candidate has experience in:

  • Personalization and/or Content Management System (CMS) platform product management

  • Partner and Affiliate Marketing platforms: Connecting to, integrating, launching, managing.

  • Technical and operations acumen to understand the implications of back-end services and operations on the user experience and vice versa

  • Experience authoring Product Management Artifacts (Requirements, Roadmaps, Business Cases)

  • Experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner in an Agile development organization

  • Market analysis
